The City of Inkster announced on April 10 that street sweeping will begin on Monday, April 13, to help keep neighborhoods clean and safe.
The city said the initiative is important for maintaining a clean environment and ensuring public safety in local neighborhoods. Residents are asked to cooperate by following the outlined schedule and guidelines.
According to the Department of Public Services, street sweeping will take place on the business day following each neighborhood’s regular garbage pickup. For example, those with Monday garbage collection will have their streets swept on Tuesday; Tuesday pickups will be followed by Wednesday sweeping, and so forth. Friday pickups will see street cleaning occur the following Monday.
Residents are reminded to remove garbage cans from the street promptly and park vehicles off the road during their scheduled sweeping day. The city said these steps help crews efficiently clean curb-to-curb throughout Inkster.
For any questions or concerns about the new schedule or procedures, residents can contact the Department of Public Services at 313-563-9774.
