Wayne State University announced on Apr. 2 that Marc Hull has been named Special Teams Coordinator and Assistant Linebackers Coach for the Warriors men’s football team.
The appointment is part of the first-year staff assembled by head football coach Terrence Isaac, Sr., who said, “Coach Hull has a wealth of experience and knowledge. He’s done a great job everywhere he has been.”
Hull comes to Wayne State after serving as an assistant coach and co-Special Teams Coordinator at Bethany College, where he also led the women’s flag football program. In 2025, he was with the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League as linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. Previously, Hull held positions as special teams coordinator and secondary coach at Valparaiso in 2024, mentoring punter Sam Johnson to Stats Perform All-America Second Team honors that year. During his time with the Pittsburgh Maulers in the United States Football League from 2022-23, Hull coached three All-Pro players when the team became co-North Division Champions.
Hull’s coaching career includes seven years at Slippery Rock (2015-2021), where he helped guide four NCAA playoff appearances and two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference titles while developing several all-conference specialists. He also worked at Shippensburg University as a graduate assistant focusing on defensive backs and began his career coaching safeties and linebackers at West LA College before moving to Kentucky Christian.
The Wayne State Warriors men’s football team competes in intercollegiate athletics within the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II level according to its official website. The team plays home games in Detroit, Michigan according to its official website, uses green and gold colors according to its official website, and finished as national runner-up in NCAA Division II in 2011 according to its official website.
Hull is originally from Los Angeles, California. He earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in social science in 2008 before obtaining a master’s degree from Shippensburg University six years later.
