City of Dearborn recently issued the following announcement.
City closings and trash collection schedule for Christmas, New Year’s holidays
City of Dearborn buildings will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and most buildings will be closed New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Trash and recycling collection is also affected.
Trash and recycling collection will occur as normal on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24.
However, collection will be delayed by one day beginning on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25. This means that residents with a Wednesday pickup will have their trash and recycling collected on Thursday. This pattern will continue throughout the week, with Friday’s trash pickup occurring on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Trash and recycling pickup will be on a normal schedule for Monday, Dec. 30. It will also occur as normal on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31, but will be delayed again on Wednesday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.
Trash and recycling will be collected Thursday, Jan. 2 through Saturday, Jan. 4.
Residents with any questions about trash or recycling collection should call GFL at 844-233-8314.
The Dearborn Administrative Center (DAC), the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center (The Center), the 19th District Court, the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) and both the Bryant and Esper Branch Libraries will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25.
The Senior Center inside the Center will be closed Monday, Dec. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 1. It will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2.
The DAC, 19th District Court, libraries, and DISC will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The Center will be open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.
