Macomb County issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.
Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel and Brigadier General Rolf E. Mammen today signed the updated Partnership Agreement between Selfridge Air National Guard Base (ANGB) and Macomb County for Public-Public, Public-Private Partnerships (P4). The P4 Agreement will promote innovative and collaborative partnerships and will address initiatives approved for pursuit under Selfridge’s Air Force Community Partnership Program, including a Selfridge indoor firing range, a campground and a golf course, among other items.
The P4 is also related to the Selfridge Sustainability Study (S3), an initiative which will address compatibility planning for Selfridge (ANGB) and surrounding Macomb County communities. The 15-month long project will identify and assess issues and opportunities covering a range of topics. This will result in a set of recommendations and implementation plans to mutually benefit Selfridge ANGB and local communities by preserving mission capability and readiness while supporting continued community economic development and quality of life.
The S3 committee held its first meeting today following the signing of the P4 Agreement. The meeting introduced the S3 to installation and community leadership stakeholders. Follow-up activities will include engagement with other stakeholders and the public in the surrounding communities to ensure their valued input is included as the study gets underway. Opportunities for public participation in the S3 will be advertised.
