City of Dearborn recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Dearborn is committed to the health and safety of all of our residents and everyone who visits the city and our many attractions and locations on a daily basis. Given the seriousness of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) that has recently been identified in Michigan, Dearborn is taking several precautions to mitigate any spread.
As a result, some city services and resources will be unavailable in the short-term. A list of events, services, and performances that have been cancelled and/or rescheduled so far is provided below:
Building Closures:
Dearborn Historical Museum
Closed for visitation, group meetings and public events through the end of March
Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC)
The Ford Community and Performing Arts Center
Events and Activities:
All events and performances at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center cancelled until further notice:
Dearborn Libraries
Dearborn Public Library remains open to the public with normal hours of operation.
All library programs for remainder of March are cancelled
All Big Read events and activities for the remainder of March are cancelled
Dearborn Recreation Department Senior Services:
The Senior Services Office in the East Wing of the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center is closed indefinitely
Dearborn Recreation Department Ongoing Senior Services
Meals-On-Wheels will continue as usual
SMART bus services will continue to book and conduct rides for essential medical services
The Closings and cancellations may be added to and updated at any time.
The City of Dearborn is seriously monitoring this situation and we are taking all precautions to ensure our residents and visitors practice proper safety precautions and are aware of critical resources from credible sources.
Our website, cityofdearborn.org, has information and guidelines from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), as well as a list of resources residents can access online for those trying to limit public outings for health reasons. We encourage you to read the MDHHS guidelines for proper hygiene and protection.
