City of Dearborn recently issued the following announcement.
Save a trip to “City Hall” by using online resources
The City of Dearborn would like to remind residents that resources and services are available online for those wanting to avoid visiting the Dearborn Administrative Center (DAC) in-person due to health concerns. Below is a partial list of services or resources that can be accessed online:
City Clerk
The City Clerk’s Office offers several services online that are convenient and easy-to-use. Individuals can obtain birth and death certificates, block party and garage sale permits, and dog licenses online at www.cityofdearborn.org/services/clerk
Finance
There are a number of ways residents can pay their property tax or water bills without going inside the DAC.
• NEW! DivDat: Residents can pay their water and tax bills with cash, check or card at several DivDat Kiosks throughout the Metro Detroit area, or through e-check or credit card on the DivDat phone app. There is a 3 percent convenience fee applied to all debit or credit card transactions.
More information can be found at www.cityofdearborn.org/services/finance-treasury.
• Drop boxes at the DAC: Residents can use the 24-hour drop box in the parking lot of the DAC. Bills and checks must be placed in a sealed envelope and placed in the drop box no later than 5 p.m. on the due date.
• By mail: Bill payments can be sent to the DAC through the Postal Service. Please note that the City orn does not accept postmarks; payment must be received by the due date.
• Automatic Transfer: Residents may choose to have their property tax and water bills automatically deducted from their accounts monthly through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Debit system. The service is free, secure and easy to arrange. You must submit a completed ACH form to the Treasury Division with a copy of a voided check or statement from your bank verifying your routing and account number. Forms are available at cityofdearborn.org.
• Online: Residents can pay online at cityofdearborn.org. Additional processing fees may apply.
• By phone: For property tax bills, miscellaneous invoices, special assessment bills and delinquent personal property taxes only, residents can pay by calling 866-518-2301.
