Brogden Primary School has moved to full remote learning due to eight COVID-19 cases connected to the school that Wayne County Public Schools has become aware of.
The district did not specify whether any of the affected individuals are either students of staff, according to recent reporting by the Goldsboro Daily News. However, the district stated that all eight individuals have been on the school’s campus and all have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
“As has already occurred with other non-WCPS schools in our county and region impacted by COVID-19 on their campuses, we are transitioning this particular school to full remote to allow time for the district to deep-clean the building and for any staff or students who may have been potentially exposed to remain home to self-monitor for symptoms,” Dr. James Merrill, Wayne County Public Schools interim superintendent, told the Goldsboro Daily News.
