City of Farmington Hills issued the following announcement on July 27.

Farmington Hills Fire Department Seeking Paid-on-Call Firefighters – Applications accepted until Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.

The Farmington Hills Fire Department is seeking candidates for the position of paid-on-call firefighter. This is a part-time, paid position within the Department that offers many rewards. The pay rate is $9.87 per hour during training and $16.05 after training.

Once trained, paid-on-call firefighters become part of the highly acclaimed Farmington Hills Fire Department. They work assigned shifts that are flexible and are called in for emergencies on occasion, participate in fire education events and ongoing training drills and programs, and maintain fire apparatus and equipment. Plus they enjoy the personal satisfaction that comes from helping others in the community!

To be considered, you must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record. You are required to complete and submit the City of Farmington Hills application and the supplemental firefighter application. A resume will not be accepted in place of a completed City and supplemental application.

Submit your application to the City of Farmington Hills Human Resources Department, 31555 Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336, either by mail, in person, via email at hr@fhgov.com, or by fax to 248-871-2491. The City application and supplemental firefighter application can be downloaded from the City website at http://www.fhgov.com. Questions may be directed to Human Resources at 248-871-2490.
