City of Taylor issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.
The City of Taylor’s Good to Great Neighborhood Program has moved into two new areas of the City.
G2G is now working in Areas #22 and #25. Area #22 includes the neighborhoods between Telegraph, Ecorse, Monroe and Wick. Area #25 includes the area between Goddard, Koths, Pardee and Telegraph.
Good to Great focuses on making enhancements such as beautification, parks, signage, trees, utilities, roads, catch basins, neighborhood businesses, LED lighting, blight removal, sewer maintenance and even public safety.
As part of this program, the Taylor Police will be holding a meet-and-greet session with residents. This gathering will be held. This is an opportunity for residents to meet and interact with the police officers and get a better understanding of the safety concerns in your area. Please stop by and chat with them.
- 5 p.m. on September 14 on the corner of Pine and Koths Streets.
- 5 p.m. on August 17 on the corner of Hayes and Pine Streets.
- In the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church parking lot at Birch and Kensington.
- In the school maintenance building parking lot at Pine Street, south of Beyers.
G2G also offers a tree program for replacements or additions of trees in the easement (between sidewalk and street) of your property. These are easement-friendly trees and are offered at a discount price of $200. Once you have purchased a tree from the following list, we will install them in your easement in a bed of soft-edge mulch and provide a slow release watering bag per tree.
