Electronic Notice for Recreation Master Plan Public Hearing on December 14, 2021 at 6 p.m.

City of Dearborn Heights issued the following announcement on Nov. 8.

Notice is hereby given that the City of Dearborn Heights Parks & Recreation Department will hold an Electronically Held Public Hearing on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments on the proposed City of Dearborn Heights Recreation Master Plan 2022-2026. A recreation master plan assists the city and specifically the Recreation Department in identifying recreation needs within the community. The plan ultimately determines the most effective and efficient methods of improving the facilities, programs and properties as well as providing facilities, programs and properties beyond those that currently exist. While a recreation master plan assists the community in determining its long-range goals and needs, if approved by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), it also qualifies the community for recreation grants which are administered through the MDNR. The proposed 2022-2026 Recreation Master Plan includes a community description, an overview of the administrative structure of the Recreation Department, an inventory and analysis of the existing recreation facilities, and finally recommended projects proposed to be funded for the next five years. Copies of the proposed City of Dearborn Heights Recreation Master Plan will be available for review at City Hall, 6045 Fenton Street, in the Mayor’s Office, the Canfield Community Center, 1801 N. Beech Daly, and the Richard A. Young Center, 5400 McKinley, during normal office hours. It is also available for review online at the City of Dearborn Heights Parks & Recreation Page, Parks & Recreation (dearborn-heights.mi.us). Those unable to attend the public hearing are invited to submit written comments to the Parks & Recreation Department, 1801 N. Beech Daly Road, Dearborn Heights, MI. 48127. All written comments must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
