Join the Westland Police Department for "Understanding basics of Traffic Safety". This is a program that provides a safe environment for new drivers to experience a traffic stop. Teen drivers, with a parent or guardian, experience a stimulated traffic stop and learn what to do if they are stopped by the police, involved in a traffic accident, or traffic altercation.
Who can participate… High school students with a valid drivers license or driving permit. Drivers must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Valid drivers license or driving permit is required with a valid Vehicle registration and permit. Simulated traffic stops will take no more than five minutes and participants can go as many times as they would like.
