Enrollment at Dearborn Heights School District #7 increased by 3.4% compared to previous school year

There were 2,539 students enrolled in Dearborn Heights School District #7 in the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.6% of them were girls, and 49.4% were boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 58.6% of the Dearborn Heights School District #7 total enrollment.

Dearborn Heights School District #7 covers six schools within Wayne County with its main office in Dearborn Heights. Among them, Annapolis High School recorded the highest enrollment of 748 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
