Fourteen members of the 2023 Wayne State University men's cross country team have been recognized with GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) All-Academic accolades. This marks the highest number of recipients in school history for a single year and the fifth consecutive season with at least 10 honorees. Additionally, eight members achieved Excellence Team honors, matching the school's record.

The criteria for these accolades require student-athletes to be active roster members at the end of the season and not freshmen or first-year transfer students.

The eight student-athletes receiving All-Academic Excellence Team honors for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 include graduate students Ransom Allen (Ithaca, Mich.), Jeremy Cavallo (Davisburg, Mich./Clarkston), and Donald O'Keefe (Troy, Mich.). Juniors Carson Nicoletti (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica) and Stevan Stajic (Belle River, Ont./Tecumseh Vista Academy), redshirt sophomore Eli DiCerbo (Clinton Twp., Mich./Fraser - MMSTC), sophomore Adam Hafeli (Lake Orion, Mich.), and redshirt freshman Ty Nagy (Commerce Twp., Mich./White Lake Lakeland) also received this recognition.

Allen (Mechanical Engineering - 3.989), Cavallo (Computer Science - 3.89), and O'Keefe (MBA - 3.93) were honored for the fourth straight season. DiCerbo (Mathematics - 3.98) and Nicoletti (Marketing - 3.67) were recognized for the second consecutive year. Stajic (Biomedical Engineering - 3.51) advanced from the All-Academic squad to the Excellence Team, while Hafeli (Special Education - 3.87) and Nagy (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.77) were first-time eligible.

Six runners received All-Academic Team recognition for having a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49: redshirt juniors Tyler Buchanan (Fenton, Mich./Linden) and Jack Wilson (Washington, Mich./Romeo), junior Corban Hauch (West Olive, Mich./Zeeland West), sophomores Anthony Vinson (Macomb, Mich./Utica Eisenhower) and Jack Wallace (Ray, Mich./Romeo), along with redshirt freshman Kenny Minto (Davison, Mich.).

Buchanan (Exercise and Sport Science - 3.41) was honored for the third straight season, while Hauch was recognized for the second consecutive year. Wilson transferred from Butler and was first-time eligible alongside Vinson (Marketing - 3.29), Wallace (Biomedical Engineering - 3.01), and Minto.

Allen finished 13th at the NCAA Championship meet after being named Division II Men's Athlete of the Year by USTFCCCA for the Midwest Region. Buchanan placed 15th at GLIAC Championships with Minto finishing in 44th place; Nicoletti in 62nd; Wallace in 66th; Wilson in 80th; and Cavallo in 87th.
