Three members of the 2023-24 Wayne State University women's fencing squad have been recognized with GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team honors. This marks the fifth year that the conference has acknowledged student-athletes from non-GLIAC sports. Over these five years, the women's fencing program has seen 24 academic honorees.

The criteria for this recognition require that a student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season and not a freshman or first-year transfer student.

Senior Vika Shevchenko (Troy, Mich.) was joined by sophomores Ludovica Mancini (Rome, Italy) and Mehreen Siddiqui (Canton, Mich./Salem).

Shevchenko (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.51 GPA) ascended to the Excellence Team after two years on the All-Academic squad. Mancini (Global Studies - 3.97 GPA) and Siddiqui (BioChem and Chemical Biology Honors - 4.00 GPA) were first-year eligible.
