Wayne State University announces date for annual softball prospect camp

The Wayne State University softball program will host a one-day Prospect Camp on Sunday, August 11 at the Gary L. Bryce Field/WSU Softball Stadium from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Check-in time is from 8:15 a.m. until 8:45 a.m.

The camp is designed for players with graduation dates of 2025, 2026, and 2027. The cost to attend is $95.

In case of rain, the camp will be held in the Doris J. and Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility.

Participants are required to bring a helmet, glove, bat, cleats, gym shoes/turf shoes, water, and lunch.

Camp features include working with the Wayne State coaching staff and current Warrior softball student-athletes for the 2024-2025 season. Attendees will have the opportunity to demonstrate offense, defense, pitching, catching, and base running through participation in drill work in the morning. There will also be a live Q&A session with softball student-athletes during station rotation and live games in the afternoon. Each participant will receive a WSU camp t-shirt.

The schedule of events is as follows:

- 8:15 a.m. to 8:59 a.m.: Registration in Softball Lobby

- 9:00 a.m. to 9:10 a.m.: Introductions in Softball Grandstands

- 9:15 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.: Warm-up at Respective Station Location

- 9:20 a.m. to 11:58 a.m.: Morning Skills Showcase Rotations

- 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.: Lunch Break (please bring lunch or snack)

- 1:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.: Afternoon Live Game Play

- 3:25 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Wrap-up in Softball Grandstands

All individuals must have completed the WSU Sports Consent/Liability Waiver Form and Parent & Athlete Concussion Information Sheet before being allowed to participate. These forms should be turned in at registration on the day of the camp.
