Six former Wayne State University student-athletes have been selected for induction into the Wayne State University Athletic Hall of Fame.

The class of 2024 includes conference champion in both cross country and track Fred Delcomyn (1958-1961), two-time fencing national runner-up in sabre Ziad Elsissy (2013-2018), football All-American defensive back Jeremy Jones (2007-2011), 16-time swimming All-American Ellyson Maleski (2012-2016), tennis conference Player of the Year Andreea Mitrache (2013-2018), and All-American hurdler Karrington Seals (2014-2018).

"I would like to congratulate this year's six HOF inductees," remarked WSU Director of Athletics Erika Wallace. "This group of individuals achieved amazing accomplishments during their time at Wayne State, which speaks to the rich history of our Athletic Department. I'm looking forward to honoring them this fall during homecoming weekend. A well-deserved honor for all."

The WSU Athletic Hall of Fame membership will increase to 275 with the inductions this October.

The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 25th, with the class also being introduced at the October 26th Homecoming football game vs. Saginaw Valley State. Details about purchasing tickets for the induction ceremony will be released in the coming weeks.
