The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) released its yearly preseason Women's Cross Country poll on Wednesday, which saw the Wayne State University women selected second.

This is the second year in a row that the Warriors have been selected second overall and is tied for their highest preseason ranking. Since the installment of the poll in 2018, the WSU women's preseason position in the poll has met or surpassed the previous year's edition.

For the third year in a row, the Warriors find themselves behind Grand Valley State University. GVSU received 100 points along with 10 first-place votes. WSU was the recipient of 86 points and a lone first-place vote.

Four of the Warriors that competed in the NCAA Championship last fall are returning, including All-Region selections Reagan Justice and Briana Vojinov. They are joined by seniors Emily Gordon and Annalee Misch. WSU finished second at the 2023 GLIAC Championship behind eventual national champion GVSU.

4. Northern Michigan (73 points)

6. Parkside (56 points)

7. Ferris State (46 points)

8. Davenport (40 points)

9. Purdue Northwest (29 points)

10. Lake Superior State (19 points)

11. Roosevelt (10 points)

The women kickoff the 2024 season on Saturday, September 7th, at the Northwood Invitational in Midland, Mich.
