Wayne State University's volleyball team is preparing for its first road trip of the 2024 season, participating in Parkside's Hampton Invitational. The Warriors will face Upper Iowa and Lake Erie on the first day, followed by matches against Ohio Dominican and Northern State on the second day.

Head Coach Tim Koth stated, "We learned some things about ourselves last week. Now we're looking forward to seeing how we apply those lessons at our second event in Wisconsin."

In their previous outing at the Warrior Invitational, Wayne State recorded a 1-2 performance. They secured a win against Frostburg State but fell to Northwood and Ohio Dominican. Junior middle blocker Kayla Giroux and senior outside hitter Molly Miller were recognized on the All-Tournament Team for their performances.

Upper Iowa, led by first-year head coach Jim Dietz, has started its season with a 2-3 record. Key players include Zoe Semelroth with 85 kills and Nicole Pozorski with 186 assists.

Lake Erie also began its season with three matches over two days under new head coach Calaeb Haire. Freshman Allison Kirch leads the team in kills and total attacks.

Ohio Dominican defeated Wayne State in four sets during the Warrior Invitational under fifth-year head coach Amy Bambenek. Notable players include Jenna Peters and Liv Fenstermaker, who were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Northern State's head coach Brent Aldridge is in his 14th season with an impressive track record of victories. The Wolves are currently undefeated this fall and feature returning All-NSIC players Abby Meister, Abby Brooks, Keri Walker, and Natalia Szybinska.
