Sophomore Kayla Dulgar from Warsaw, Ohio, has been recognized as the GLIAC Setter of the Week for the third time in her career and the first time this season. The announcement was made by the league on Monday afternoon.
"This is a well-deserved honor for the GLIAC leader in assists per set," said head coach Tim Koth. "She works incredibly hard and I'm very proud of her."
Dulgar's recent performance included 88 assists and an average of 11 assists per set during Wayne State's two matches last week. In a five-set loss to No. 16 Grand Valley State on Thursday night, she achieved a personal best with 57 assists and added 21 digs for her fifth double-double of the fall. On Friday evening, in a sweep against Roosevelt, Dulgar contributed 31 assists and seven digs. Her additional statistics for these matches included four kills, two total blocks, and one service ace.
Coach Koth highlighted that Dulgar leads the league in assists per set (10.76) during GLIAC outings and ranks third in total assists (226). Across all matches played, she is third in total assists (487) and fourth in assists per set (9.55).
