Wayne State divers compete at Clarion Fall Classic

Divers from Wayne State University participated in the Clarion Fall Classic at the Waldo S. Tippin Natatorium in Clarion, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. The event featured both men's and women's diving competitions.

In the Women's 11 Dive - 1 Meter category, Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru from Kalamazoo, Michigan, placed third with a score of 350. Alicia Viaches from East Lansing, Michigan, followed in fourth place with a score of 333.45. Ella Murawski and Zoe Wood secured sixth and eighth places respectively.

For the Women's 6 Dive - 1 Meter competition, Wadsworth-Curcuru achieved seventh place scoring 217.95. Viaches took eighth place with a score of 202.8.

In the Women's 6 Dive - 3 Meter category, Wadsworth-Curcuru finished ninth with a score of 201.1.

On the men's side, John Martin from Brownstown, Michigan, excelled by winning the Men's 11 Dive - 1 Meter event with a score of 462.15 and achieving an NCAA cut.

Julio Osuna from Tijuana, Mexico secured second place in the Men's 6 Dive - 1 Meter event with a score of 316.4 and also made an NCAA cut.

Wayne State's swimming and diving teams are scheduled to compete next against Davenport at home on Friday, October 18 at 5 p.m.
