Wayne State women's golf finishes fifth at Davenport Panther Invitational

The Wayne State University women's golf team concluded the fall segment of their 2024-25 season at the Davenport Panther Invitational in Augusta, Michigan. The event took place at Stonehedge North Golf Course, which will host the 2025 GLIAC Championships. The Warriors secured fifth place among 13 teams with a total score of 608 (+32) over two rounds.

Sophia Wygonik from Westland, Michigan, led the Wayne State individuals by tying for sixth place with a score of 148 (+4). Claudia Portillo from Madrid, Spain, followed closely in eighth place with a score of 149 (+5). Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, tied for ninth with a score of 150 (+6). Other team members included Orianna Bylsma and Ting-Yu Kuo who placed 40th and 41st respectively.

In the team standings, Saginaw Valley State finished first with a score of 591 (+15), followed by Davenport and Gannon. Wayne State's next competitive season will commence in March as they enter the spring portion of their schedule.
