Wayne State advances ten swimmers to GLIAC finals

The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team participated in the third preliminary session of the 2024 GLIAC Championships on Sunday morning in Holland, Michigan. Ten athletes from the team have advanced to compete in the finals scheduled for Sunday night, with eight qualifying for the Championship Finals.

In the 500 Free event, Alli Vassilakos secured first place with a time of 4:54.17, followed by Jordan Fox in second place at 4:55.65, and Megan Sieloff in fourth place with a time of 4:58.29. All three swimmers achieved NCAA B Cut times and will advance to the Championship Final. Diana Muccioli and Danika Fessenden will participate in the Consolation Final after finishing 14th and 15th respectively.

Evie Dice advanced to the Championship Final in the 100 Back event with a fifth-place finish at 57.18. In contrast, Hailee Waters did not advance after placing 17th.

Hasten Horling qualified for the Championship Final in the 100 Breast event by finishing eighth with a time of 1:05.49.

Barbara Munoz led her team by finishing first in the 200 Fly event with an NCAA B Cut time of 2:03.35, while Elly Belmore and Danika Fessenden also advanced to the Championship Final after securing fifth and eighth places respectively.
