Wayne State women's golf team drops to eighth at Emerald Coast Collegiate

The Wayne State University women's golf team experienced a shift in their standings during the second day of the Emerald Coast Collegiate in Destin, Florida. The team moved from fifth to eighth place as they prepare for the final round scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. eastern time.

Beca Vestman from Madrid, Spain, currently leads the Warriors with a score of 150 (+8) and is tied for 19th place. Other notable performances include Inja Fric from Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Maisarah Hezri from Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia, both tied at 29th place with scores of 153 (+11).

The team standings show Flagler in first position with a total score of 574 (+6). Central Missouri and UT Permian Basin are tied for second with scores of 594 (+26), followed by St. Mary's (Texas) in fourth with 595 (+27). Wayne State holds eighth place with a combined score of 615 (+47).

Wayne State's individual performances are rounded out by Orianna Bylsma competing as an individual in tie-68th place with a score of 162 (+20), Sabel Imesch at tie-75th with 163 (+21), Clarita Laffitte also competing individually at position 85th with a score of 167 (+25), and Logan Potts in position 92nd scoring 174 (+32).

The competition will continue as teams vie for top positions in the final round.
