The Wayne State University women's golf team is set to participate in Northern Kentucky's The Julie, held at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio. The event is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, with the Warriors aiming to improve upon their recent 10th-place finish at the Emerald Coast Collegiate.

Head coach Larry Hamilton expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming competition: "We are very excited to play in a new event this spring. It's a good field with a mix of D1 and D2 teams and should be a good experience for us."

The lineup for Wayne State includes Beca Vestman from Madrid, Spain; Maisarah Hezri from Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia; Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; Clarita Laffitte from Montevideo, Uruguay; and Orianna Bylsma from Montague, Michigan.

The tournament features teams such as IUPUI, UW Green Bay, Purdue Fort Wayne, Cleveland State, Youngstown State, Saint Francis, Southern Indiana, Valparaiso, Eastern Illinois, Glenville State, and Thomas More.

Beca Vestman has been recognized as GLIAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the third time in her career and second time this season. She leads Wayne State with a scoring average of 75.7 over 15 rounds this season. Vestman has achieved two top-10 finishes and six top-25 finishes.
