The Wayne State University men's tennis team, ranked No. 20 nationally, is set to begin its NCAA Championship journey on May 13 in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Warriors, who are the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional, will face off against No. 37-ranked Tiffin University, the sixth seed, at 2 p.m. The winner of this match will compete against either Ferris State or Grand Valley State on May 14.

Ferris State University will host this segment of the regional tournament at Big Rapids High School's outdoor courts if weather permits. In case of adverse weather conditions, matches will be relocated to the FSU Racquet & Fitness Center. "FSU will square off with GVSU at 10 a.m. on Monday," before Wayne State and Tiffin meet later that day.

The winner from this section of the Midwest Regional and winners from other regions nationwide will proceed to Altamonte Springs, Florida for the NCAA Championship Round of 16 scheduled for May 21-25.

Wayne State has a historical record of 15-13 in NCAA Tournament play and is making its third consecutive appearance in the championship under Head Coach Bryan Morrow. This season, they hold a record of 14-10 overall and were runners-up in the GLIAC Tournament after losing narrowly to Ferris State.

In their previous encounter this season with Tiffin on March 26, Wayne State emerged victorious with a decisive 4-0 win.

This year's Midwest Regional features eight teams seeded based on their performance throughout the season. Indianapolis holds the top seed and will play Findlay while Drury faces McKendree in another matchup within this region.

The projected singles lineup for Wayne State includes players such as Daniel Grey from Wiesbaden, Germany, who remains fifth nationally in singles rankings according to recent ITA updates released on May 2. Grey and Cedric Drenth are now recognized as Division II's top doubles duo.
