The Wayne State University men's basketball team is set to host two games this week at the Fieldhouse, facing Grand Valley State on Thursday night and Davenport on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors aim to end a four-game losing streak, including two consecutive losses in Detroit.

Grand Valley State comes into the matchup having won their last two games but struggles on the road with a 1-7 record. Their recent away victory was an 82-65 win against crosstown rival Davenport. Similarly, Davenport has faced challenges while traveling, holding a 1-7 record away from home. They are coming off a five-game home stand with a 3-2 record and will play their next four games on the road.

In terms of head-to-head matchups, Grand Valley State holds an 18-win advantage over Wayne State in their all-time series, with six victories in the last eight meetings. Wayne State has not defeated Grand Valley in Detroit since February 2019. Against Davenport, Wayne State trails slightly in their series history but maintains a winning record at home.

Grand Valley's second-year head coach Cornell Mann leads a team with four players averaging over ten points per game: Ethan Alderink (11.9), Marius Grazulis (11.5), William Dunn (11.0), and Britain Harris (10.4). Grazulis also ranks second in rebounds per game within the GLIAC.

Davenport is coached by Burt Paddock and features Marcedus Leech Jr., who averages 17.3 points per game and ranks fifth in free throw percentage within the league.

Wayne State's Carmelo Harris leads his team with an average of 12.7 points per game, supported by Ray Williams Jr., Matt Coffey, Colin Golson Jr., and Tamario Adley as key contributors.
