Wayne State falls to Ferris State in four-set volleyball match

Wayne State University's volleyball team faced a challenging match against Ferris State University, losing in four sets on Friday night at Ewigleben Sports Arena. Ferris State, ranked No. 2 and undefeated with a record of 23-0 overall and 12-0 in the GLIAC, continued their strong performance at home by winning the match 3-1.

The scores were 16-25, -27, 25-27, and 18-25. Wayne State's performance included hitting .229 for the match with a total of 54 kills and 21 errors on 144 attacks. Ferris State responded with a .310 hitting percentage, totaling 52 kills and committing only 13 errors on 126 attempts.

Molly Miller achieved her fifth double-double of the season for Wayne State with 11 kills and ten digs. She was one of three players from Wayne State to reach double-digit kills, alongside Kayla Giroux who led with 13 kills and Leigha Baldwin who also contributed with eleven.

Other notable performances from Wayne State included Kayla Dulgar with 34 assists, Carly Rodman serving two aces, Baldwin contributing two blocks along with Katie Smith, and Kendyl Andrews leading in digs with eleven.

Wayne State will next compete against Davenport University on Saturday as they aim for a regular-season sweep over the Panthers.
