The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team, ranked 19th nationally, competed against Northern Michigan and Findlay at the Matthaei Natatorium on Saturday. The Warriors achieved a victory over the 17th-ranked Findlay Oilers with a score of 155-139 but were defeated by the 10th-ranked Northern Michigan Wildcats, losing 215-85.

Head coach Sean Peters expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance. "Today was a rewarding day for all of the student-athletes," he stated. "This format was very challenging, but we did a great job as a team to support each other and perform to the best of our ability. I am very proud of our Warriors with their strong swims and excellent dives."

Peters remains optimistic about upcoming competitions, saying, "I feel confident that, heading into our mid-season meet in two weeks, that we are poised to perform well, and I am excited to see what the Warriors can do. I'm very proud of how we did today!"

Key victories for Wayne State included Barbara Munoz's first-place finishes in both the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.06 and the 400 IM clocking in at 4:33.24. Notable second-place finishes included Alli Vassilakos in the 1000 free with a time of 10:44.55 and Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru in the 1-meter diving event scoring 420.15.
