The Wayne State University softball program is set to conduct a series of camps over four days in January and February. These sessions aim to provide instruction and skill development for various aspects of the game, catering to different age groups.
The first event is the Hitting Camp on January 12, targeting grades 4-12. Participants will receive guidance on hitting and bunting techniques, with practical drills included. Two sessions are available: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., at $60 per session or $50 for groups of ten or more.
Following this, Prospect Camps are scheduled for January 19 and January 26, focusing on both offensive and defensive skills for players in grades 9-11. Each camp offers two sessions: hitting from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by defense from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., priced at $70 per person.
On February 2, the Pitching/Catching Camp welcomes grades 4-12, with emphasis on basic pitching techniques and catching skills respectively. Sessions run from either 9 a.m. -10 a.m., or from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., each costing $40.
For advanced players in grades 9-11, specialized Prospect Pitching and Catching Camps will also be held on February 2, focusing on showcasing specific skills such as pitch location and catching techniques during two afternoon sessions (12 p.m.–1 p.m., or from 1 p.m.–2 p.m.), each at $40 per hour.
"Please make sure you bring your glove," was highlighted in the information provided regarding equipment requirements.
All campers must complete three documents prior to participation: Consent to Treatment & Waiver; Health Form; and Parent Athlete Info Sheet.
