The Wayne State University men's basketball team is set to face Michigan-Dearborn in a non-conference game at the Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The Warriors, with a current record of 2-5, are looking to improve their performance as they approach the end of their regular season non-conference schedule. The matchup against Michigan-Dearborn, who holds a 3-9 record, will begin at 7 p.m.

Wayne State recently split its first two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games, securing a win against Davenport and suffering a narrow loss to Grand Valley State. These matches were held at home in the Fieldhouse. Following this week's game against Michigan-Dearborn, Wayne State will play Northwood and Redeemer in their remaining non-conference games.

Michigan-Dearborn competes in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and recently ended a three-game losing streak with a victory over Northwestern Ohio. The Wolverines have achieved wins against Kuyper and Concordia (Mich.) earlier this season.

Historically, Wayne State has dominated the series against Michigan-Dearborn with an all-time record of 26-1, including an undefeated streak when playing in Detroit. This upcoming game marks only their second meeting since the start of the 2002-03 season.

In recent GLIAC action, Wayne State's match against Grand Valley State was closely contested. Despite leading briefly during the first half, Wayne State fell short with a final score of 65-63. Key performances included Adam Ayrault's career-high 16 points and Tamario Adley's double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors have shown efficiency from both behind the arc and at the free throw line despite their overall record. They rank nationally for free throw percentage and three-point shooting accuracy. Rob Lee Jr., in particular, has maintained a perfect free throw record this season.

All regular-season games for Wayne State are broadcast live on WDTK - The Patriot radio station except for two non-Division II games. Additionally, GLIAC contests are available on FloSports through an agreement with the conference.
