Wayne State University's women's basketball team is set to resume conference play following their recent games against Cedarville and Findlay. The Warriors, who currently hold a record of one win and one loss in these matches, will travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, for a game against Lake Superior State Lakers on Thursday. They will then proceed to face Ferris State on January 4th.

In their history with Lake Superior, Wayne State leads the series with 45 wins to 42 losses. However, they have faced challenges playing away, as the Lakers boast a home record of 25-15 against them. Meanwhile, Wayne State trails Ferris State in their series with a record of 40 wins and 44 losses.

Lake Superior has shown improvement after starting the season with six losses and is now on a three-game winning streak. Junior forward Grace Bradford has been instrumental in this turnaround, averaging a double-double per game.

Ferris State comes into the matchup with an overall record of eight wins and three losses. Senior guard Kadyn Blanchard has been a standout performer for the Bulldogs this season.

The Warriors' schedule ranks as the ninth toughest in Division II basketball. Two of Wayne State's players are nationally recognized for their performances: Shea Tripp and Taylor Thompson are both ranked among the top fifty for double-doubles.

In recent matches, Wayne State managed a victory over Cedarville but suffered defeat at Findlay. Taylor Thompson recorded her fourth double-double during the latter match, while Shea Tripp surpassed 1,000 career points at Findlay.

Wayne State returns with several experienced players who have previously earned letters with the team. These include Alyssa Leister, Ally Shagena, and Shea Tripp.

All home games and GLIAC contests for Wayne State's women's basketball will be broadcast on FloSports. Road contests will feature free audio commentary available through WSUAthletics.com.
