The Wayne State University men's basketball team is set to return home after a challenging two-game road trip. The Warriors, currently holding a 5-7 overall record and 1-3 in the GLIAC, will face Parkside on Thursday night and Purdue Northwest on Saturday afternoon.

Last week, Wayne State faced defeats against Lake Superior State and Ferris State. As they prepare for their upcoming games at the Fieldhouse, the Warriors aim to regain momentum.

Parkside arrives in Detroit with a two-game winning streak. They recently secured victories over Purdue Northwest and Roosevelt. Meanwhile, Purdue Northwest has been struggling, losing five of their last six games and only managing one win away from home this season.

Historically, Parkside leads the series against Wayne State with a 17-9 advantage. However, Wayne State has shown strength at home with a 6-5 record against Parkside in Detroit. Against Purdue Northwest, Wayne State holds a 9-5 lead in the all-time series and remains undefeated at home.

Parkside's performance this season is led by head coach Luke Reigel in his 22nd year. Key players include Jack Rose, Josiah Palmer, and Nick Brown. On the other hand, Purdue Northwest is under Boomer Roberts' leadership for the seventh season. Collin Albert, Jailen Nelson, and Detalian Brown are among their top scorers.

In their recent game against Ferris State on January 4th, Wayne State fought hard but ultimately fell short with a final score of 91-81. Despite shooting challenges compared to Ferris State's efficiency, several Warriors players had notable performances including Carmelo Harris who scored a season-high of 24 points.

Carmelo Harris continues to excel at free throws with an impressive percentage ranking second in the GLIAC and fifth nationally this season.

Wayne State's remaining regular-season games will be broadcast live on WDTK - The Patriot (1400 AM / 101.5 FM) as well as streamed online via PatriotDetroit.com. Additionally, all GLIAC contests will be available on FloSports per an agreement with FloSports.
