Wayne State University's men's swimming and diving team faced a challenging meet against Grand Valley State University, ranked fifth nationally. The competition took place at the GVSU Fieldhouse Pool, where Wayne State was defeated with a score of 207-93.

Head coach Sean Peters commented on the meet: "We swam against one of the top teams in the country at their pool, and it certainly was a challenge. We managed a couple of wins with each gender, and saw some improvements from last week, and looking forward to continued strides for the Warriors."

Despite the loss, Wayne State secured three event victories. Max Wasiniak from Huron, Ohio won in three-meter diving with a score of 306.53. Gabriel Arias achieved two wins; he finished first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.25 and also topped the 200 individual medley clocking in at 1:56.51.

Looking ahead, Wayne State will host Oakland University on Saturday, January 18th at Matthaei Natatorium starting at 1 p.m.
