The Wayne State University women's basketball team is set to host Saginaw Valley State and Roosevelt as they conclude the first half of their GLIAC schedule. The Warriors will face SVSU on Thursday at 5:30 PM, followed by a game against Roosevelt on Monday at the same time. The team has won nine of its last 14 games.

In their series history with Saginaw Valley State, the Warriors trail 39-45 but have won five of the last six games played in Detroit. The last encounter saw SVSU winning 77-72 despite WSU leading at halftime. This upcoming match will be the first between Wayne State and Roosevelt, who joined the GLIAC this past summer.

Saginaw Valley State enters the contest with a 9-7 overall record and a 3-5 mark in conference play. They recently split their last two games, losing to Michigan Tech but defeating Northern Michigan. Sophomore forward Megan McCalla leads SVSU in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per game.

Roosevelt holds a 5-9 overall record with a similar 3-5 conference record. Marie Outlay and Luka Malinka are key players for the Lakers, both averaging over 12 points per game.

Wayne State's schedule ranks as one of the toughest in Division II, with significant national attention on players Shea Tripp and Taylor Thompson for their performances in double-doubles and rebounds.

Recently, Wayne State split its games against Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. They secured a narrow victory over Northern Michigan thanks to Jaci Tubergen's late three-pointer but fell short against Michigan Tech despite several players scoring in double figures.

Wayne State returns with several letterwinners this season, including Alyssa Leister and Shea Tripp, each having earned multiple letters previously.

All home games will be broadcasted via FloSports as part of an agreement with the streaming service. Road games will feature audio coverage through WSUAthletics.com.
