Wayne State softball announces full schedule for upcoming season

The Wayne State University softball team, led by head coach Nicole Tines in her fourth year, is set to start its 2025 season this weekend at the Lincoln Memorial Invitational in Harrogate, Tennessee. The team will face Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) on Saturday at noon, followed by a game against Kentucky Wesleyan at 4 p.m. On Sunday, the Warriors will play Davis & Elkins at 10 a.m. and LMU again at noon.

The following weekend, Wayne State will participate in the Lewis Dome Invitational in Rosemont, Illinois. They are scheduled to play Bemidji State and St. Cloud State on Friday, February 21st, and then face Lewis and Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, February 22nd.

Wayne State's home opener is planned for Sunday, March 2nd with a doubleheader against Findlay before traveling to Florida for their spring break trip. During this trip, they will compete in 12 games over eight days as part of the NTC Spring Games in Clermont.

Upon returning north, Wayne State will host former GLIAC rival Northwood on March 19th. The team begins GLIAC play with home doubleheaders against Davenport and Ferris State during the weekend of March 22-23. A doubleheader against Saginaw Valley State on March 26th wraps up an eight-game home stand.

The Warriors will then travel to Parkside and GLIAC newcomer Roosevelt for conference games on March 29th and March 30th respectively. A non-league home doubleheader against Tiffin is scheduled for April 2nd before hosting Grand Valley State and Purdue Northwest on April 5th and April 6th respectively to complete the first half of their GLIAC schedule.

After a mid-week visit to SVSU on April 9th, Wayne State will host Roosevelt University (RU) on April 12th and Parkside on April 13th. The following weekend includes visits to Ferris State University (FSU) on April 18th and Davenport on April 19th before hosting Ohio Dominican for another doubleheader against a former GLIAC opponent on April 22nd. The regular season concludes with twinbills at Purdue Northwest (PNW) on April 25th and Grand Valley State University (GVSU) on April 26th.

The GLIAC Tournament for the year is set from May 1st to May 4th at the Ballpark at Rosemont.
