The Wayne State University men's basketball team is set to embark on its longest road trip of the season, with four away games lined up. The Warriors, holding a record of 11-11 overall and 7-7 in conference play, will face Saginaw Valley State and Roosevelt in their upcoming matches.

Last week, Wayne State split two home games. They secured a victory against Michigan Tech with a score of 74-62 but fell to Northern Michigan 66-61. The Warriors now prepare for their journey starting at Saginaw Valley State, which has been stronger at home this season with six wins out of nine on their own court.

Wayne State's match-up history against Saginaw Valley State shows the Cardinals leading the all-time series by six games. In recent encounters, Saginaw Valley has won seven out of eight games played at University Center, although Wayne State did secure an away win last season that propelled them into the GLIAC Tournament.

Roosevelt recently defeated Wayne State in Detroit with a close score of 67-63. Head coach Dee Brown leads Roosevelt with Forte Prater as one of the top scorers in the league.

In their previous game against Northern Michigan on February 8th, Wayne State struggled initially but mounted a strong comeback attempt that ultimately fell short. Despite shooting better from the field than their opponents (44.7% compared to NMU's 41.4%), turnovers and paint scoring were areas where Northern Michigan held an advantage.

Junior Carmelo Harris continues to excel at free throws for Wayne State, maintaining high efficiency both this season and throughout his career. Redshirt senior Ray Williams Jr., known as "The Maestro," is climbing several career records within the program while junior guard Tamario Adley recently achieved notable success from the foul line.
