The Wayne State University women's cross country team has secured commitments from four student-athletes for the 2025-26 academic year. Under the guidance of head coach Grant Lofdahl, now in his eighth year, Chloe Josephson, Olivia Lincourt, Ava Peters, and Kendall Sears will join the Warriors.
Chloe Josephson hails from Linden High School in Michigan. She has been a two-year cross country letterwinner and qualified for the MHSAA Division 2 state cross country finals as a junior. Coach Lofdahl remarked on her potential, stating, "We really like the potential and athleticism of multi-sport athletes, and Chloe is one of those folks."
Olivia Lincourt attended Oakland Community College before committing to Wayne State. She earned MCCAA All-Eastern Conference honors in 2024 with a third-place finish at the conference championship meet. Coach Lofdahl commented on her transition to WSU: "She should make a smooth transition from OCC to WSU next year."
Ava Peters comes from Livonia Franklin High School in Michigan. She has competed at the MHSAA Division 1 state final cross country meet multiple times and earned All-State accolades as a senior. Coach Lofdahl expressed enthusiasm about her joining: "We are very excited that Ava chose Wayne State."
Kendall Sears will graduate from Pettisville High School in Ohio. She participated in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division 3 state cross country championships for three consecutive years. On her commitment, Coach Lofdahl said, "When Kendall had her official visit with us, she immediately clicked with the team."
These new recruits join as five four-year letterwinners—Natalie Davies, Mattie Drennan, Emily Gordon, Reagan Justice, and Annalee Misch—graduate from Wayne State's women's cross country squad.
