Wayne State University's men's tennis player, Cedric Drenth, has been recognized as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday.
Drenth's performance was pivotal in Wayne State's narrow 4-3 victory over the University of Indianapolis. In doubles, Drenth teamed up with George Day to secure a 7-6 win against the Greyhounds' top pair, Mathieu Derache and David Simeonov. Additionally, Drenth achieved a singles win with scores of 6-2 and 6-4 against Simeonov.
The Wayne State men's tennis team is scheduled to compete again on Friday, February 14. They will face Case Western Reserve University and the University of Northwestern Ohio.
