Wayne State's swimmers advance to GLIAC finals

Wayne State University's women's swimming and diving team had a productive preliminary session on Friday at the 2025 GLIAC Championships, held at the Holland Aquatic Center in Holland, Michigan. The Warriors successfully advanced 15 out of 21 participating student-athletes to the finals scheduled for Friday night.

In the 500 free event, Alli Vassilakos secured a spot in the Championship Final with a time of 5:00.03, meeting the NCAA B Cut standard. Diana Muccioli also advanced to the Championship Final with a time of 5:01.97, achieving an NCAA B Cut as well. Emily Hedley will compete in the Consolation Final after finishing with a time of 5:04.16 and making an NCAA B Cut.

For the 100 backstroke, Evie Dice and Kate Rhodes advanced to the Consolation Final with times of 58.33 and 59.30 respectively.

In the 100 breaststroke, Delaney Parker made it to the Championship Final with a time of 1:04.32. Julia Katulski and Sabine Branford will participate in the Consolation Final with times of 1:06.08 and 1:08.78 respectively.

Barbara Munoz led her team in the 200 fly by advancing to the Championship Final with an NCAA B Cut time of 2:01.64. Elly Belmore and Emma Crispo will join her in this final event with times of 2:07.04 and 2:07.46 respectively.

In diving, Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru qualified for the Championship Final on the three-meter board with a score of 411.25.
