The Wayne State University softball team is set to play a non-conference doubleheader against the University of Findlay on Friday at Findlay High School. The Warriors, with an overall record of 3-4, aim to recover from three consecutive losses at the Lewis Dome Invitational last weekend. Meanwhile, the Oilers hold a 5-1 record this spring.

The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by the second game approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. These games replace a previously scheduled series for Sunday, March 2 at WSU.

Historically, Wayne State leads the series against Findlay with a 44-12-1 record and an 18-7 mark in Findlay. However, Findlay has won six of the last eight encounters, including five consecutive wins in their home city.

In recent performances, Wayne State managed one win out of four games at the Lewis Dome Invitational. Senior Rylie Josephson stands out with a .550 batting average and a .625 on-base percentage. Freshman Katelyn DeWitt leads in runs scored and RBI while maintaining a .520 batting average. Sydney Long has pitched the most innings for Wayne State with notable contributions from Grace Fisher as well.

Findlay recently swept Grand Valley State and split games against #15 Indianapolis before winning twice against Illinois-Springfield. Kenzie Woods leads their batting statistics alongside Meghan Heinsman and Annika Bredel who have contributed significantly to their offense.

Following Friday's doubleheader, Wayne State will head to Florida for a series of games from March 8-15.
