Wayne State athletes compete at IWU Polar Bear Classic

The Wayne State University women's track and field team participated in the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Classic with six athletes competing on the opening day. Additionally, 12 members of the men's cross country team took part in the 5K race.

In the women's 5,000m run, Emilee Rudlaff finished 14th with a time of 18:51.85, followed by Paige McArdle in 16th place at 19:00.83, and Natalie Davies in 18th place at 19:16.86.

For field events, Makayla Stewart placed 10th in shot put with a distance of 11.74 meters, while Ania Toboy came in 16th at 10.39 meters. In javelin, Peyton Hansen secured a fourth-place finish with a throw of 32.06 meters.

On the men's side for the 5,000m run, Sean Pettis led Wayne State by finishing sixth at 15:09.30. Jared Platt closely followed in seventh place with a time of 15:13.14. Ethan Pruzinsky achieved ninth place clocking in at 15:27.18.

Other notable performances included Andrew Yax who finished 11th with a time of 15:28.06 and Anthony Vinson who was right behind him in 12th place at 15:28.67.
