Sophomore guard Jordan Briggs from Wayne State University's men's basketball team has been honored with Academic All-District recognition by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The announcement was made earlier today. Briggs, a Marketing major from Muskegon, Michigan, has maintained a 3.68 cumulative GPA.

During the past season, Briggs participated in all 29 games for the Warriors and started in the first 10 games of his career. He improved in various statistical categories including points per game (8.1), rebounds per game (1.9), assists per game (2.6), steals (16), blocks (3), free throw percentage (.802), three-point percentage (.304), and minutes played per game (24.9).

Briggs scored in double figures on 12 occasions, with five games featuring 15 or more points—four of which occurred during his last five games of the season. He led his team in assists with a total of 76 and achieved an assist/turnover ratio of 1.95.

The CSC's release highlights that "the 2024-25 Academic All-District Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom." The program honors athletes across four divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA.

Honorees are eligible for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Finalists will be voted on by CSC members with results announced on April 15, 2025.
