The Wayne State University men's golf team began its 2025-26 season with a second-place finish at the Glenmoor Fall Invitational, held at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio. The Warriors completed the tournament with a total score of 880 (+16), trailing Hillsdale by five strokes after three rounds.
"I'm very happy with the performance over the 54 holes," said head coach Mike Horn. "We let a lot of shots get away and have a lot of little things to clean up, but I am very thrilled with this young group and how well we competed all three rounds. Congratulations to Andrew Daily finishing near the top of the leaderboard. And congratulations to Hillsdale on their victory. Looking forward to a good week of practice and improvements starting next week."
Andrew Daily from Brighton, Michigan, finished second individually with a score of 212 (-4), just four strokes behind Robert Thompson of Hillsdale, who earned Medalist Honoree. Troy Chapman, competing in his first collegiate tournament, tied for fourth place with a score of 220 (+4).
Other notable performances included Harrison Chapman and Jack Julian tying for 14th place at +6 (222). Will Pollack finished tied for 20th at +10 (226), while Josh Lahner placed 24th at +11 (227). Shawn Sehra finished in 36th place at +16 (232), and Aidan Treharne tied for 46th at +22 (238).
In the team standings, Ashland secured third place with a score of 889 (+25), followed by Ohio Dominican in fourth at 898 (+34) and IUP in fifth at 901 (+37).
Wayne State's next competition will be the Folds of Honor Challenge hosted by Grand Valley State University at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Michigan. The event is scheduled for September 15-17.
