Wayne State women’s golf finishes eleventh at William Beall Fall Classic

The Wayne State University women's golf team finished 11th out of 17 teams at the William Beall Fall Classic, which took place in Findlay, Ohio. The tournament marked the team's fourth event of the 2025-26 season. The Warriors posted a total score of 969 over three rounds (323-328-318), finishing 105 strokes over par.

Claudia Portillo led Wayne State individually, tying for 45th place with a score of 240 (+24) after rounds of 80, 82, and 78. Other contributors included Ting-Yu Kuo, who tied for 52nd with a score of 244 (+28), Orianna Bylsma in 57th at 245 (+29), Sonia Bayahya tied for 59th at 247 (+31), and Clara Laffitte tied for 62nd with a score of 248 (+32).

Findlay claimed first place in the team standings with an overall score of 894 (+30). Grand Valley State and UIndy rounded out the top three teams.

Wayne State will conclude its fall schedule at the Davenport Panther Invitational on October 11-12. The event will be held at Stonehedge North Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan.
