Kayla Giroux and Kayla Dulgar of the Wayne State University women's volleyball team have been recognized by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for their performances last week. Giroux was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Dulgar received Setter of the Week honors. This marks the third time this season, and sixth in their careers, that both players have earned these distinctions.

Giroux recorded a .419 hitting percentage with 33 kills and only seven errors on 62 attacks. She also contributed defensively with 13 blocks, including seven solo blocks, averaging 1.44 per set. Dulgar accumulated 89 assists at an average of 9.89 per set, along with eight kills on a .533 hitting percentage, nine aces, 17 digs, and three block assists. Notably, she achieved a career-high six aces during Friday's match against Michigan Tech.

The Wayne State team secured its first win at Michigan Tech since 2016 and completed its first road sweep over both Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan since that same year. The victory over Michigan Tech marked the Warriors' fifteenth win this season—their highest single-season total since 2022. With Saturday's five-set win against Northern Michigan, Wayne State improved to a perfect 4-0 record in five-set matches this season after recording just one such win in the previous two seasons combined.

Giroux, Dulgar, and their teammates are scheduled to play at home this week against Ferris State on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by Senior Day against Davenport on Saturday at 4 p.m.
