Backpacks must be picked up this Friday from noon-5 p.m. in the Sheridan Pavilion, Heritage Park.

Visit the market and meet your Representative Garza, enjoy local vendors and more! The market is an ideal place to spend a few summer hours on a Friday afternoon. If you’re hungry, the market offers some great luncheon opportunities for very reasonable prices.

In addition to the giveaway, the Taylor Farmer’s Market has announced that it will extend its season through September, but will be closed on Friday, August 30, due to the long Labor Day weekend.

In September, the market will be open from noon-5 p.m. on September 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Friday, September 6 will also feature the final free concert of the season, now dubbed the Harvest Hootenanny. Presented by Wayne County Community College District and the City of Taylor, the hootenanny will offer a free concert featuring Detroit’s highly awarded Jill Jack with special guest Carly Collura, a Taylor native now based out of Nashville. This promises to be an excellent concert, so bring your entire family, lawn chairs and blankets. Food and refreshments, including alcohol, will be available at cost.

The hootenanny will kick off at 5 p.m. with $5 wristbands offering a range of activities that will include challenging games, crafts and other activities. Cost for the wristbands is cash only.
