Taylor Animal Shelter recently issued the following announcement.

Plarning-Mats for the Needy

Wednesday, October 2, 2019

Plarning is making yarn from out of plastic strips (plarn) cut from grocery bags. The strips are crocheted into 3’x6′ mats that are distributed to the homeless. The mats are lightweight, washable, bug resistant and also benefit our environment by putting the plastic bags to good use instead of our landfills. Approximately 700-1000 bags are used to complete one mat. This group meets every Wednesday from 9:30 – 11:30 am. We always need volunteers to sort, cut or crochet. If this interests you, why not join in and help provide a means for a needy cause and pass a good deed forward. We’d love to have you!
