Join the Westland Police Department for “Understanding basics of Traffic Safety”.  This is a program that provides a safe environment for new drivers to experience a traffic stop. Teen drivers, with a parent or guardian, experience a stimulated traffic stop and learn what to do if they are stopped by the police, involved in a traffic accident, or traffic altercation.

Who can participate… High school students with a valid drivers license or driving permit. Drivers must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Valid drivers license or driving permit is required with a valid Vehicle registration and permit. Simulated traffic stops will take no more than five minutes and participants can go as many times as they would like. For more information, contact traffic bureau Sergeant Brandon Paris at 734-722-9633 or Bparis@wlpd.net
