The Taylor Sportsplex (13333 Telegraph Road) will host a unique sled hockey tournament. This is the first year of the tournament, which will be held Friday, January 6 (6-11 p.m.), Saturday, January 7 (11:30 a.m.-6 p.m.) and Sunday, January 8 (11:30 a.m.-4 p.m.).

It is being presented by Metro Detroit Sled Hockey and Belle Tire Youth Sled Hockey. The tournament is paying homage to the Michigan Sled Dogs, an organization that has been playing independently for years, but next year will be part of the Belle Tire and Metro Detroit Sled Hockey families.

Teams are traveling in from all over the Midwest to participate.
