Wayne County Parks and the Alliance for Rouge Communities announced on April 17 that they will host a community meeting regarding habitat restoration efforts at Inkster Park. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Inkster City Hall.

The meeting aims to inform residents about the upcoming construction planned as part of the park’s habitat restoration project. Representatives including the land owner, engineer, and construction contractor will be present to review details of the project and explain what community members can expect during the construction period.

Attendees will have an opportunity not only to learn about current plans but also to provide input on future efforts within Inkster Park. Organizers say resident feedback is encouraged as it can help shape ongoing improvements in the area.

The project is funded through a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Great Lakes Region Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grant (GL-00E03777). More information about the initiative and updates on this effort are available at https://www.allianceofrougecommunities.com/inkster.html.

Community involvement in meetings like this one helps ensure local needs are addressed during public projects such as park restorations.
